John Specht
The exact fate of John Specht was never known. He never reached the settlements, and when the lone Indian later met the boys, Joseph and Christian, he made his boast that he had killed both their father and Specht, but his story was doubted by the boys [Christian and Joseph].
Taken from p. 40 of Descendants of Jacob Hochstetler, by Rev. Harvey Hostetler, D.D., 1912. This portion was prepared by William F. Hochstetler.
