Jacob Hertzler, sometimes referred to as the first Amish Bishop –---------- both Hershbergers and Ho[ch]stetlers

I mentioned some time ago that Jacob Hertzler is part of the family line. His daughter, Catherine (1731-1800), married John Hochstetler, the eldest son of the immigrant, Jacob Hochstetler. In fact, John, a young child, was on the boat with his parents. This couple (John and Catherine) appear several times in both the Hershberger and Hochstetler lines.

Jacob Hertzler arrived in Philadelphia September 9, 1749 on the ship Saint Andrew, with James Abercrombie as Master, from Rotterdam [Ed. note: actually, the spelling in the database, Pennsylvania Foreign Oaths of Allegiance on Ancestry.com is “Andrrw,” and “Abrrcrombir.”] .
