Amish customs - Wedding Invitation

I thought you might like to see this wedding invitation Eli Hershberger and Erma Hostetler sent to one of Eli’s siblings. If I’m not mistaken, the Susie referred to (the cook) is the same Susie to whom this invitation was sent. I hope there was some prior discussion of this assignment! (This was written in pencil on a postcard and is 60+years old! They were married in 1945.)

Dear friends
Just a few lines to invite you all to our wedding on Oct. 25. Church will be at Manass Hershbergers. Susie is to be cook. Be sure and come.
